Our team specialises in enabling historic buildings to have a new life, while maintaining the original fabric. We can work with you to ensure that historic elements are safeguarded and preserved. We can also restore buildings by assessing the original intention to extend the buildings life by restoring its appearance.
Studio Izzo has coordinated large teams of conservators in New Zealand and Internationally, where they have managed projects including the Royal Palace in Naples for the G7 summit 1994, a number of large monasteries in Italy and the Isaac Theatre Royal in Christchurch 2012-2014. We can consult on projects at the initial planning stage as well as providing project management and onsite conservation and restoration.
Areas we can assist in include:
Assessment and analysis of a heritage building
Conservation appraisals
Project management
Heritage conservation advice
Restoration and interior decoration

"Carolina’s conservation expertise, craftsmanship and attention to detail was apparent in all work undertaken which was to an excellent standard, and her willingness to discuss, consult, seek advice or share ideas was appreciated by the project team, myself as Conservation Architect, Heritage NZ and the Christchurch City Council Heritage Team."
